Moksha is a movie featuring Arjun Rampal. Shocked at the way lawyers treat less well off people, Vikram Saigal decides to do something for the poor, who have a legal cause of action, but are unable to afford a lawyer. Rithika Sanyal, his girlfriend, supports him enthusiastically. However, when the plan fails, Vikram decides to rob a bank. Rithika is afterward killed and the police charge Vikram with her murder, relying on considerable evidence and witnesses that will go to show that Vikram did indeed commit the crime.

It was known that Katrina Kaif was down with serious viral fever during the awards apprehended in Bangkok recently. The doctors had recommended complete bed rest to her. The organizers wondered whether Katrina would be able to live up to her obligation and carry out at the event. In fact taking the doctor’s advice into consideration, the organizers too suggested that Katrina should just take it easy and not perform at the show.
But Katrina just went off in some antibiotics! And was all set to rock and roll. Retracting from a commitment was out of question for her. And the kind of performance Katrina dished out, not once did the on-lookers come to know that she was down with high fever. After the show when people learnt that Katrina had performed despite her illness, they praised her for her professionalism. Producers, who had worked with Katrina earlier, also swore by her professionalism. That’s Katrina for you... way to go!

Devdas

The son of Zamindar Narayan Mukherjee, Devdas was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He grew up in the luxuriant village of Taj Sonapur, where he spent his childhood with his friend Paro. They grew up sharing a special relationship. Unaware of all the differences of position and background, a bond that would never break grew between them. Soon, Devdas is sent to London for his education. Years later Devdas returns. Devdas obsessed by Paro’s spectacular beauty longs to marry her. But Devdas’ father meets Paro’s mother with snobbish arrogance. It causes a split between the families and even though Devdas tries to persuade his father, his father doesn’t take a softer line. Paro then enters into a virtuous marriage with a wealthy, much older man, Zamindar Bhuvan, while a devastated Devdas walks towards agony, alcoholism and Chandramukhi, a eye-catching courtesan, who keenly loves him. Meanwhile, Paro, on the other hand, performs her sophisticated duties sincerely, but inside her, she could never forget Devdas. Strange was the fate of Devdas. Intensely loved by two women, who were never meant to be his. One whom he could never love and one whom he could never stop loving.

Irrfan Khan in Terje Vigen of Henrik Ibsen

Irrfan Khan was in London two weeks ago. He was there it seems to rehearse Norwegian playwright of realistic drama, Henrik Ibsen’s Terje Vigen in Urdu. Irrfan says that this is the project where an actor from every country is invited.
All rehearsed Henrik Ibsen’s Terje Vigen, about the ineffectuality of war, in different languages. Irrfan represented India by speaking the Urdu version, alongside stalwarts like Gila Almagour, who performed in Hebrew, Jean Rochefort in French, Anne Grete Preus in Norwegian and Masatoh Ibu in Japanese. He felt 10 feet tall.
Irrfan claimed that he spent months familiarizing himself with the thoughts and feelings in Ibsen’s poems. He also told that luckily for him, he is no stranger to Ibsen. In fact his first film Jazeere by Govind Nihalani was based on Ibsen.
His familiarity with the Norwegian playwright and his training in theatre gave him the confidence to carry off this project.
The collective performance has been titled The Identity of the Soul and is all about the futility of war. In the performance, all actors from across the world recite the same lines by Ibsen, although in different languages. The performance is expected to be shown on celluloid. Irrfan feels that this project is one of his best achievements.

Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi

Siddharth, Vikram and Geeta are three college mates in the movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi. Of which, Siddharth is a determined revolutionary who dreams of bringing a revolution in the state of Bihar that will end the caste-based discrimination there, bring social justice, and, change the society for the better. Vikram is the son of a Gandhian politician who has grown up in less comfort than Siddharth and Geeta but wants to climb the social steps no matter what the cost. Geeta is a London returned, South Indian girl in love with the agitator Siddharth. While she finds Siddharth’s socialist rhetoric attractive, she is not sure if she can whole-heartedly subscribe to it. And every time they come to point of choice, Siddharth chooses his principles over his love for her thus breaking her heart time and again. Vikram is a middle-class boy who dreams of making it big, whatever the cost. A few years later, Vikram is a fixer in the power passages of government, Geeta is married to a promising government servant who has it all, and Siddharth is still trying to rouse up a revolution. But all is not as it seems. Below the mask of happiness, each is quite unhappy. Vikram has ‘made it’, but he still cannot get Geeta, the love of his life. Geeta is married, but she still meets Siddharth on the sly, cheating on her husband. Siddharth has moved beyond and has started caring for the subjugated so much so that he is prepared to delay a revolution because he feels that the people are not ready in spite of their saying otherwise.

Sudhir Mishra palnning to make a film on Dr Binayak Sen

It is heard that filmmaker Sudhir Mishra is planning to make a film on Dr Binayak Sen who is a human rights activist. When contacted, Mishra confirmed that he had laid out plans to make a film on the life of the doctor. He also said that he thinks his life warrants a film. That man could have chosen to earn crores in his life but he thought otherwise.

Dr Binayak Sen is a human rights activist, a pediatrician and a public health doctor. He was arrested on May 14, 2007 in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. His crime was that he and his organization, People's Union for Civil Liberties had helped draw public attention to the illegal killings of several adivasis in Santoshpur, on March 31, 2007, Chhattisgarh. Sen was under arrest under provisions of the Chhattisgarh Special Public Security Act, 2006, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, which was amended in 2004 to include key aspects of the Prevention of Terrorist Activities Act (POTA), 2002.
A number of organizations and individuals across the world have protested against the arbitrary arrest of Dr Sen, following which a police probe into the incident was ordered.

Right now, Binayak is in prison in Raipur. But insiders insist that since Mishra and Binayak go back a long way, the activist will have no objection to Mishra making a film on him. Mishra informs, “I will be meeting Binayak to seek his permission for the film. However, at this point of time, I am not too sure if he will give a go-ahead for the film.”

Kiss Kis Ko

Kiss Kis Ko movie shows five performers named Sudhanshu, Karan, Chin2, Siddharth and Sherrin who perform at all possible clubs, but Lady Luck continues to get away from them. While Siddharth takes time to romance the girls, the remaining four boys are obsessive flirts. Till one incident changes everything. One of the girls, Divya, falls in love with Chin2. So much so that she even starts writing letters in blood! The boys produce a plan to keep Divya at howl. They create an excuse about Chintu being a married man and a Casanova. Divya drops Chintu like a hot potato. But Divya’s friend Riya gets to know the truth and decides to take them to task. She befriends all of them, one by one, and later creates a gap amongst them. Just when things had worked as per her plans, she has a change of heart and even admits to her fault. Also, in the process, she loses her heart to Siddharth.

Ekta Kapoor worried about meeting her deadlines

It seems that Ekta Kapoor must have decided to bring forward the launch of her much- flaunted Kahaani Hamaaray Mahabharat Ki, but the rain Gods may play the spoilsport.
For the last three days, the cast of the serial has been waiting to shoot the first episode; they haven't been able to shoot a single scene because it has been pouring in the pink city. Most of the scenes are to be shot outdoors.
Balaji Telefilms has incurred a huge loss. Ekta says that 200 people are stranded in Jaipur as the Amer fort is blocked. And since they have not shot for the last three days, she is worried about meeting her deadlines.

Madhur Bhandarkar coming up with his next film Jail

Though he was busy wrapping up his forth-coming film Fashion, there was another story cooking in Madhur Bhandarkar’s head. The realistic filmmaker announced his next film, Jail with Neil Nitin Mukesh in the lead role. Madhur’s films always have heavy doses of real-life events and characters and his Jail is based on the renowned Alyster Pereira case. Alyster Pereira was charged of running his Toyota Corolla over and killing seven construction workers in Bandra in November 2006. Alyster and his friends were arrested on charges of falsification and for submitting fake papers to obtain a driving license and were purportedly under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred when Pereira and his friends were returning from a late night party. Pereira had allegedly counterfeit his school leaving certificate and used it as document to prove his age to obtain a driving license. Alyster Pereira is currently out on bail.
Jail is going to hit the theatres from October this year and Neil has already been finalized for one of the key roles in the film. Jail is about the infamous Alyster Pereira hit-and-run case.
Neil will play the character of a rich spoilt little monster that gets involved in a hit-and-run case and is booked for drunken driving. The case was a chatting point all over and Madhur was fascinated by Alyster’s story. However, the script of Jail is kept under wraps and the cast and crew have been sworn to secrecy.
When contacted, Madhur Bhandarkar confirmed the news but refused to divulge details. He said that he would start work on Jail only after he is through with the editing of Fashion.
Jail, he said is based on under-trials and as the name suggests, Jail is the baseline of his film. But at this point of time, he would not like to speak more about the film. Will have to wait and watch.
Bhandarkar Entertainment and Percept Picture Company will jointly produce the film.

In the process of solving Sehar’s case it comes to light that on Sunday, different people interacted with her and amongst them, one could be the accused. The lot included Ballu, the taxi driver and his friend, Kumar, an under pressure NSD actor, Ritu, Sehar’s close friend, a scary and suspicious character who resides in Sehar’s society, and the group whom she had come across while partying at the discotheque. While trying to solve the puzzle, Rajveer stumbles upon a murder case whose clues hold up Sehar to be the offender.

Sanjay Dutt in action packed thriller Blue

It seems that Sanjay Dutt has taken to fitness like a duck takes to water. It is heard that Sanju Baba has lost 26 kgs for his upcoming action-packed thriller Blue, which is being produced by Ashtavinayak. Dutt is recently in the Bahamas shooting for the film that also features Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone. Manyata is also with Sanjay in the Bahamas.
It was extremely important for Sanjay to lose a lot of weight after he came out of prison where he had developed a double chin and a big paunch. Hollywood trainer Lawrence, who has flown in from Los Angeles, has been training Sanjay.
It is believed that the actor earlier wanted Mark Twight, who trained the cast of the war epic 300, but Mark was busy with other commitments. That's how Lawrence came into the picture. Preity Zinta squalled out of the dubbing studio

It is known that near the beginning of this week, Preity Zinta threw a fit and walked out of a dubbing studio where she was dubbing for Har Pal. Preity was dubbing for the film at Dev Anand's Navketan Studios at Pali Hill. Preity was terribly upset because an unsavory remark from the producer, Soni Juneja offended her. It took quite an effort to pacify her before she resumed dubbing.
Zinta got annoyed because the sound-recorder, Rakesh Ranjan left assistant recorder Pradeep Suri to oversee the dubbing. However, Preity refused to dub without Ranjan's presence. When contacted, Juneja did not deny the incident. He said that the sound-recorder Rakesh Ranjan was unwell when Preity arrived at the dubbing studio.
He explained to her that she should go ahead with Suri, but she was uncomfortable with the idea of dubbing without Rakesh. She then left the studio and did not dub that day. It was also known that Suri felt insulted at this.
Juneja explained that Har Pal has emotions in most scenes and a slight change in dubbing can affect the quality of the film. Later, he called up Ranjan and he arrived on the sets the next day. After that, Preity has been dubbing with them regularly.

Iqraar By Chance is a movie in which Rashmi convinces a radio station owner, Radiowala that she can effectively pull off a new reality show. In the show, she would fall in love with a total unfamiliar person and later dump him. Radiowala chooses Raj as her unsuspecting target. Raj is a DJ by work who works in a pub owned by Talwar. Talwar and his wife are hell-bent on getting Raj married to their daughter Tina. To avoid Talwar’s trap, Raj lies to him that he is already married. Disbelieving, Talwar asks Raj to bring his wife to meet his family. In the meantime, Rashmi is trying hard to charm Raj to make him fall in love with her for her radio show. Raj uses this chance to convince her to act as his wife in front of the Talwars. He lies to her that he is actually R.B. Mathur, a CBI officer from India. He tells her he is in London to expose a big drug alliance. The local drug lord, Sikka’s men, overhears this conversation. To confuse matters further, the real R.B.Mathur too arrives in town in pursuit of the drug mafia.

Fakira

In Fakira movie, Vijay and Ajay look helplessly as their house burns down killing their parents. They are subsequently separated, and Vijay becomes Fakira, a criminal. However, he robs the rich to provide for the poor. Chimanbhai, a criminal don, perturbed by Fakira’s thefts, recruits Toofan, a hitman to kill him. The trusting Fakira does not know that his wife is the daughter of the police commissioner, and is herself a plainclothes policewoman assigned to arrest him; and that Toofan is none other than his younger brother, Ajay.

Director Balki coming up with Pa

Actress Vidya Balan was being considered to play one of the lead roles in Cheeni Kum director; Balki's next titled Pa. Till yesterday there was no news if she was actually roped in. Then it was heard that Vidya liked the script and gave her nod to this one.
She is yet to sign the dotted line said a friend of the actress but has agreed to do it. The formalities and date scheduling will happen a few weeks from now. Pa revolves around three main characters – played by Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan.
Going by the title of the film, it revolves around a father-son relationship. So, will Amitabh sport a ponytail in this one yet again? Balki said that No ponytail this time round. However, after Sarkar, Sarkar Raj, and KANK, it'll be interesting to watch Amitabh-Abhishek do the pa-beta thing on-screen once again!

Sabse Bada Khiladi

Akshay Kumar, who is playing the role of Lallu in Sabse Bada Khiladi, comes to Bombay city, in search of work. Jamna Das, a rich industrialist employs him and afterward asks him to get married to his daughter, Sunita, but she loves Amit and will have nothing to do with Lallu, who she finds uneducated and primitive. Das has a heart attack and passes away, but changes his last will and testimony, making it incumbent upon Sunita to marry Lallu or get nothing from his estate. Having no other option, Sunita marries Lallu, but continues to have her affair with Amit. Then Amit and Sunita plot to kill Lallu, and succeed. Inspector Vijay Kumar is assigned to this slaughter

Madhur hitting through the upper limit

Madhur Bhandarkar's budgets for films are hitting through the upper limit. While his Chandni Bar was made for Rs 1.5 crore, he spent close to Rs 4 crore for Traffic Signal. However Fashion, budgeted at Rs 20 crore, is Madhur's most glamorous and expensive film so far. Madhur said that Fashion is a big financial leap. Because of the kind of opulence the film requires, they needed a big star. Priyanka Chopra is a glamorous star and Fashion couldn't have been made without her. And now he is looking forward to shoot the climax with her in Paris.
There is some change of plans regarding the climax of Fashion. Earlier, the director had planned to shoot the Paris Fashion Week live in July, but now he'll be recreating the Fashion Week in Paris during the event. Madhur informed that they were working on a deal with the French Government. They will show Priyanka walking the ramp but they won't shoot the Fashion Week. A set in Paris needs to be put up for about five days. They want to capture Priyanka framed against the Eiffel Tower and also show her walking the ramp in Paris as a super-model. They will also have some footage from the real Fashion Week.
Madhur's next project Jail, a hard-hitting film on a criminal who escapes from prison, was supposed to be shot in a real jail. However, it will now be filmed on a set because of the practical problems associated with the film's shoot. Madhur has cast Neil Nitin Mukesh in the film. When he saw Neil in Johnny Gaddar, he knew that he was perfect. He doesn't think a prison story like Jail has been done so far in Hindi films. He always wanted to go into genres that were new for him and for the audience. Jail will be a two-hour-long thriller produced jointly by Madhur Bhandarkar and Percept Pictures.
Apart from being kicked about all his forthcoming films, Madhur is on cloud nine about winning his third National Award for Traffic Signal. In fact Madhur was caught in the traffic in the pouring rains when he heard of him winning the National Award. Since the National Awards are running a year late, he wasn't even aware that Traffic Signal was up for consideration. He was stuck in the torrential rains when a news channel from Delhi called to inform him. He thought it was a joke.
But later, when he received congratulatory calls he knew that he had really won… On hindsight, Traffic Signal was a very difficult movie to make. There were 60 characters and half of them were non-actors, straight from the streets. And they did no workshops. Though Madhur has won National Awards for both Chandni Bar and Page 3, this is his first National award as a director. And it is also for the first time that two films, Traffic Signal and Corporate, by the same director were competing with each other.

Daud

Sanjay Dutt’s Daud movie is about a dishonorable gangster Pinky who assigns Nandu, a petty thief to steal a package worth over one crore rupees for a fee, which Nandu does so. But when Nandu finds out that the package is worth more than twice the amount, he refuses to give it back, until Pinky hikes his fee amount. An enraged Pinky instructs his men to locate Nandu, find the package and then kill him. Having no Nandu runs away from the gangsters. While on the run the police launch a manhunt. What Nandu does not know that the package that he has on his person does not contain money or gold, but a nuclear bomb that is set to explode.

And because Kamalini is on a visit, she is getting a chance to be with both, her parents and sister! She almost likes a mother figure. At times Konkana is tempted to do films for the money, and she has a reason. She has done so because she is a working girl and she needs to pay her bills. But going by her gut feeling about a role always works. Sometimes producers come to her with what they think are strong powerful female-oriented roles. She wishes she could share their excitement. But she’d love to do a period film.

Sandwich

Govinda’s Sandwich movie depicts the story of Sher Singh, who lives with his mother and handicapped sister in Punjab but moves to Mumbai, changes his name to Shekhar, meets Nisha and falls in love. When his mother asks him to return, he explains to Nisha that he would be back in four days. On his return to his family, Shekhar is surprised to find out that the Zamindar’s son is ready to marry his sister on the condition that he marry the Zamindar’s daughter, Sweety. Left with no choice, he agrees to the match reluctantly and gets married to her. On returning to Mumbai he gets married to Nisha as well. Very soon Sweety and his mom shifts base to Mumbai and Shekhar is forced to lead a double life with his wives. All seems well until one day he is confronted with his look-alike who claims to be Nisha’s husband.

Ranjeev Khandelwal next to be seen in Peter Gaya Kaam Se

Right away after the significant acclamation of Aamir, Rajeev Khandelwal is keen to push the envelope. In his next film tentatively titled Peter Gaya Kaam Se, Rajiv plays a happy-go-lucky taxi bike rider based in Goa. UTV Spotboy’s COO Vikas Behl, who also supervised Aamir, is spirited about the new project. Although they did expected Aamir to appeal to a certain section of the audience, they didn’t imagine that the film would be well received by everyone. This time again, Rajeev and UTV Spotboy are determined to make a film that pushes the envelope. Their next project Peter Gaya Kaam Se will show Rajeev in a lighter stratum. However, Peter is not an easy character to depict. In fact it’s a tougher role than what Rajeev played in Aamir.
The film will go on the floors after monsoons, as that’s when Goa looks its best and the film’s canvas will capture the bright green natural surroundings. For his role, Rajeev is all set to learn to ride the two-wheelers that run in Goa. He said that he’d be learning to ride the taxi bike. Since they are shooting the film entirely in Goa he will have to learn how to ride it so that it looks authentic.

He must better be good at winding his way through those steep roads. However, for him, the most interesting aspect about Peter Gaya Kaam Se right after Aamir is that he goes from being a Muslim to a Christian. An India-based British filmmaker John Owen will direct the film. Vikas Behl said that John has been doing excellent work for music channels. He instinctively knew that he was the right person for this project, just as they knew Rajkumar Gupta was the right person to direct Aamir.
Currently, the hunt is on for Rajeev’s leading lady in Peter Gaya Kaam Se. In all probability it will be a new face.

In Mr And Mrs Khiladi movie Badrinath would like his daughter, Shalu, to marry a big shot that is capable of standing on his own feet, without having to depend on his wealth. When Shalu falls in love with a lazybones and conman Raja, Badrinath is beyond himself, and puts a condition that Raja can only marry her after he accumulates a certain sum, or else he will get Shalu married to someone else. Kashmera Shah becoming Rakhi Sawant

It is heard that Kashmera Shah is set to play an item girl inspired by Rakhi Sawant in the musical, City of Dreams that will premiere this Friday. Reportedly, Rakhi and Kashmera have had a love-hate relationship right from the time of Big Boss. Both started off as friends but soon became opponents.
In fact, the enmity between Kashmera and Rakhi had activated off colourful expletives between the two. Kashmera’s boyfriend Krushna was quite critical of Rakhi and her beau Abhishek when the pair walked out of the Nach Baliye 3 after losing to Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh. This makes Kashmera’s new role all the more interesting. Kashmera’s portrayal of Rakhi’s character in the play is awaited. Kashmera has added some more spice by giving cryptic answers like Just wait and watch!

Our story revolves around a daring youth by the name of Vijay Varma who in his college is smitten by a fellow student named Madhu. Vijay Varma’s grand father Sadanand Sharma (Kader Khan) is a doctor and adviser in matters of the heart and his guiding force in the art of wooing the woman, Vijay’s many and continuous romantic advances towards Madhu on the other hand, totally fed up with his persistent teasing and unable to do anything decides to complain to her father Mr. Sukhram (Paresh Rawal), to take necessary steps against Vijay. An angered Sukhram steps out to confront Vijay to teach him a lesson, but surprisingly on meeting him, Sukhram has a change of heart and on his return home informs Madhu that she has misunderstood Vijay and she would not find a better caring and loving man than him. Madhu, slightly smooth, now after her father’s opinion and unsure about her own judgments, slowly but steadily starts following in love with Vijay. Both the families are overjoyed at this development and decide to bind the young couple in the bonds of matrimony. Accordingly the stage is set for the engagement function. Just when everything was going well with the rituals, the fun and frolic, all hell breaks loose when Sukhram, the great admirer of Vijay, suddenly turns force. He cancels the engagement between the two insults Vijay’s family and guests and shows them the door of his house. Why did this bolt of lightening suddenly strikes? What caused this sudden change in Sukhram’s mind?

Aditya Chopra leaving no stone unturned for Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi

Aditya Chopra is leaving no stone unturned to make his determined film starring Shahrukh Khan, Rab ne Bana Di Jodi a grand success. It is known that Aditya Chopra has recorded an 11-minute song in the film for one important sequence in the film that will have Sonu Nigam paying tribute to five olden days stars.
Reportedly Aditya Chopra has recorded an 11-minute song in the film, which showcases the style of five different generations in one single song. The song tracks the journey from 1950s to the 90's to the present era and will be picturised on Shahrukh Khan.
Aditya had reached a dead end with the song where he had to scrap it when he thought of Sonu. The specialty of the song is a tribute that SRK gives to stalwarts like Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna and Rishi Kapoor. But music composers Salim-Suleiman and Jaideep Saini were asked to compose the song which would have the first line of the most famous numbers with their romantic icons and these involves songs sung by singers ranging. Mukesh, Rafi, Kishore to Jolly Mukherjee. Ranging from the '50s to the '90s. The voice had to encompass the spirit of the old and the new equally, and Sonu was the only option.
Apparently Sonu who was traveling comprehensively gratified thrice to rehearse and work on the song and then finally sang in less than 45 minutes.

PNC coming up with Guerilla Flicks

PNC i.e. Pritish Nandy Communications is trying their hands at something that is a completely new concept in Indian cinema. It is heard that they will launch new filmmakers who have eccentric film ideas. The idea is to make films, which outwardly seem almost impossible as profitable business ventures.
Pritish Nandy explained that it was an unconventional idea but that’s the whole point of cinema. They at PNC are there to take chances. Hence they are launching a new series called Guerrilla Flicks.
Nandy also said that according to him Guerrilla flicks are the true movies. It is a genre of cinema that is innovative in approach and will include comedy, action and more. They will be non-star and non-profit films. To make a Guerrilla Flick, all they need is vision.
Filmmakers mostly treat films as moneymaking ventures and do not take risks. He added that he is shocked to see that today’s so-called big filmmakers only talk of enormous budgets and ridiculous targets. They don't want to make films. All the films under Guerrilla Flicks will be small budget ventures with small stars but big cinema.
Arindam Mitra is shooting the first film from the ten-film series. Nandy has big plans for his new project. They want a grasp of unconventional talents including some of the biggest ad-makers of the country. All they need to do is direct the film and believe in PNC. Every director, big or small, has a secret wish of making a film that is completely his own vision.
To prevent this experiment from turning into a disaster, the head honcho of PNC will look into every script personally.
He also said that PNC is not afraid of losses. Thankfully so far they have had only two loss-making ventures including Ismail Merchant’s The Mystic Masseur and Kabir Sadanand’s Popcorn Khao! Mast Ho Jao.

Mithun Chakraborthy playing the lead in a comic book

Mithun Chakraborthy’s son Mimoh’s debut film, Jimmy the of bombed at the box office, but the ‘Jimmy’ connection is far from over for Mithun. Based on the famous character Jimmy from his 80s hit Disco Dancer, Mithun will play the lead in a comic book called Jimmy Zhinchak — Agent of Disco. UTV will release the book in association with Virgin Comics. The storyline will spin around Mithun, who fights many famous Bollywood baddies like Sir John of Ram Lakhan. Mithun’s comic avatar will mouth many Bollywood dialogues as well. The other characters of the book will be shown working for an agent called Disco. Vikas Bahol, COO, UTV, said that the whole idea was to come up with something fun and out of the box. Most comic books are about super heroes.
They wanted something light-hearted. Hence, they thought of Mithun sir’s famous character Jimmy. He is a superhero who fights on the dance floor.

Mukhbir once again clouded by controversy

The release of Mukhbir has already been lying in the cans for the last two years. It is known that the movie is once again clouded by controversy. Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) who had initially produced the film has sent a notice to producers Color Chips New Media Limited, distribution partners Pyramid Samaira and all possible film associations including the Film Producers Guild saying that the film should not be allowed to release unless the matter is solved.
The film starring Suniel Shetty, Sameer Dattani, Jackie Shroff, Om Puri and Raima Sen, which is slated to release on June 20, may or may not hit the screens on time. Directed by Mani Shankar of 16 December fame, this dark action thriller was initially produced by PNC but the film did not find any takers and had been lying in the cans for almost two years. That's when Chennai-based Color Chips took over the film and decided to release it with the help of Pyramid Samaira.
PNC has said that they had paid Rs 12 lakh to Mani Shankar, three-and- a-half years ago and he disappeared with the money and film. However, according to the spokesperson of Color Chips, PNC could not release the film back then and Color Chips legally took over the film from the director. A source from Color Chips said that back then Suniel Shetty's market value was not strong enough, but now he's back in the reckoning. Even Sameer Dattani was relatively unknown. Now that there is so much buzz around the newcomer and that the film has found takers. Now, PNC wants to Cash in on the film.
Sarparaj, Vice-president, Operations, Color Chips said that they cannot be accountable for the alleged liability of the director of the film or for that matter any third party. They also take strong objection to the manner in which their name was being dragged into the matter. Only time will tell if Mukhbir will finally release as scheduled on June 20 or the fight between PNC and Color Chips will delay the film’s release again.

99 slaps of Mallika Sherawat

This is no Rab Ne Banayee Jodi and not a soul would agree to this more than Mallika Sherawat and Ranvir Shorey. Mallika who plays the Pagli in Ugli aur Pagli apparently had to use her hands more than Ranvir would have preferred.
Ranvir’s character is overexcited and so every time she gets excited, she slaps the guy and so Ranvir would get slapped almost everyday on the sets.
Ranvir is more outspoken. He said that the title of the film is incorrect. Instead of Ugli aur Pagli it should be called Kahani of 99 slaps. He must have got slapped at least 100 times including all the retakes. They must say, life is certainly not a party for Ranvir. While most heroes opposite Mallika get to woo her and some Lucky ones like Himanshu Malik and Emraan Hashmi even get to smooch her, Ranvir gets only slaps from the sulky heroine!!!

Aishwarya happy with Abhishek’s performance in Sarkar Raj

Abhishek Bachchan and his wife Aishwarya’s exclusive love! The audience at the special screening of Sarkar Raj got to witness another lovey-dovey moment between the couple. On Sunday evening, the Bachchan family was present in full force for a special screening of Sarkar Raj, held by Go movie producer, Ram Gopal Varma, especially for the Bachchans. While Amitabh turned up for the event dressed formally in a suit, Ash and Abhishek preferred it casual. Abhishek was wearing a kurta pajama and Ash was in her gym wear as she had landed directly from her gym. Jaya Bachchan too was present for the event with much anticipation.
The screening was held at 9:30 pm at the Adlabs auditorium in the Film City premises on Sunday. This was the first screening and hence everybody was very excited about the film. In fact, Ash’s hands were locked into Abhishek’s throughout the film. After the film got over, everyone applauded the film for five minutes. After which, Ash hugged a surprised Abhishek rather tightly and for long with moist eyes. It was only after over five minutes that she freed Abhishek from her embrace and said that this is one of his best performances that she has ever seen so far’. Ash then went up to Ramu and reiterated the same thing. That was when Ramu assured her of her own performance saying that she was equally good. Sarkar Raj is about a close-knit family under an attack and how the family survives the attack collectively. Probably, that’s the reason why Ash got so emotional after watching the film.

Sreesanth met Aamir and Imran Khan

Sreesanth, the new Indian bowling sensation met his father's favourite actor Aamir Khan at the finals of the IPL on Sunday in Mumbai. The chance meeting happened when Sreesanth met Imraan Khan, Aamir's nephew at the match. He, in turn, introduced him to Aamir Khan. S Sreesanth said that it was the first time that he met Aamir and he really has high regards for him as an actor and as a human being. He is a very huge star apart from being a very talented actor and director.
Sreesanth further revealed that he had a long chat with Imraan. He loved the promos of Imran’s new film Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, and has told him so. Meeting with Imraan was more like meeting of two like-minded souls as Imraan and he sail in the same boat. Imraan is an upcoming actor, while Sree is trying to make his mark in cricket. Apart from films, they also had some general talk about workouts etc. He is positive that Imraan has the making of a good actor and a huge star. He is sure to go a long way.
Speaking about his conversation with Aamir and Imraan, Sreesanth said that basically they were chatting about cricket and the technical know-how. They were also discussing as to who will win the match. After three years he was watching a match sitting in the stadium, and not playing. It definitely made his day that on one hand he had the Ambanis sitting close to him, apart from Sachin paaji, Aamir and Imraan. It was definitely the biggest day of his life.
When asked if he will watch Imraan's debut film, he said that of course, but he guesses that he will be in Bangladesh at the time of the release, but he will surely watch it later. Did they also discuss cinema since he has also been offered a film down South. He said that they didn't, as the topic did not waver from cricket at all. Films are not Sree’s motive right now. His focus is cricket and all he wants to do is win more and more matches for his country. Acting and movies will happen some years down the line. He knows where he stands at the moment.

Ajay Devgan Juhu Ka Super Hero

Ajay Devgan who is born and brought up in the suburbs is a true Juhu boy. It seems that he is so attached to Juhu that he takes a keen interest in the issues concerning the area, regardless of his busy work schedules.
It is known that Ajay is currently shooting for Krishika Lulla and Kumar Mangat’s Toonpur Ka Super Hero, but he makes sure that he stands in complete support of the residents of Juhu, who are taking a step towards getting the BMC to take note of the situation and get their act right before the rains. The residents of 10th Road, Juhu, near Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow have Ajay Devgan standing by them. There are various issues, which the residents are fighting against.
Ajay Devgan feels that the authorities should take necessary action so that the rains do not do much damage. There is usually a lot of damage caused in the Juhu Scheme area, as it is a low-lying area. As a responsible resident, he feels that it is his duty to support other residents in their effort towards getting the issue resolved. And that is just what he is doing.
Shirley Singh, the Secretary of the Juhu Scheme Resident’s Association, said that after the deluge in 2005, the Chitale committee came up with a solution of widening the Irla Nala system project by 30 meters. This hasn't happened yet for various reasons. This project is very important for the residents of Juhu, and they were not getting a response in any way from the concerned authorities. Stressing upon Ajay’s involvement, Shirley smiled and said that Mr Devgan is helping them to draw the attention of authorities and raise this issue to another level. His effort has helped them immensely.
